ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission Rules:

1. Eligibility for Admission to the B.Ed. course:

(A) Candidates with at least 50% marks either in a bachelor’s degree and/or a master’s degree in science, social sciences, humanities, commerce, home science, BBA/BCA, or any other qualification equivalent are eligible for admission to the programme. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/BC andidates. Candidates with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible.

(B) Bachelor in Engineering or Technology with a specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto is eligible for admission to the program. There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/BC andidates. A candidate with less than 50% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible.

(C) Admission to the course shall be open to all eligible candidates. 85% of seats will be reserved for candidates from within the state, and 15% will be open to candidates from other states on an all-India basis.

2. Admission Procedure for B.Ed. Admission to the B.Ed. course shall be made strictly according to rules and guidelines framed by Panjab University and the Punjab Government.

There are a total of 50 seats for the B.Ed. course in the 1st semester of Panjab University in this college. Out of the total 7 seats, 7 will be filled under the Management Quota as per the Punjab Govt. Panjab University norms.

The management quota seats will be filled according to Punjab Govt. directions. Students willing to get admission to Management Quota seats will have to apply to the college directly.

3. Important information regarding original documents to be shown at the college at the time of admission:

    • Date of Birth Certificate (as per Matric Record)
    • Detail Marks Certificate of Matriculation
    • Detail Marks Certificate of Graduation
    • Detail Marks Certificate of Post Graduation
    • Character Certificate (from the institute last attended)
    • Category Certificate (in the case of OBC, an income certificate is mandatory)
    • Aadhar Card (Domicile)
Note: Attach photocopies of all certificates with the application form.

4. Fee:

The Fee for B. Ed. General, is charged as per Punjab Govt./Panjab University ,Chandigarh Norms.

5. Mode of Payment:

The dates of payment of dues will be notified by the principal from time to time according to the following schedule: The fee is to be paid in the college office at Ludhiana in four installments. The first installment is to be paid within the stipulated time after the online allotment of seats. The next three installments and university examination fee are to be paid in January 2018, July 2018, and January 2019, respectively.

6. Rules:

The fee, once paid, will not be refunded. The candidates who fail to deposit the fee on the due date will have no claim for admission. Students who have passed their lower examination from a university other than Panjab University will have to submit a ‘Migration certificate’ within 30 days of their admission.

Important: igration certificate in original and original detail marks cards of the last class passed has to be submitted in the college office within 30 days of admission failure, failing which students will have to pay a late registration fee to Panjab University, Chandigarh, as per the rules and instructions of P. U. Chandigarh.

7. General Rules:

    • Girl students will dress modestly, particularly Salwar-Kameez. The wearing of all kinds of gold or diamond ornaments is discouraged.
    • You will take your lectures regularly and seriously.
    • You are always expected to keep your identity card with you.
House Test:
a. Appearing in the house examination is a must. House tests are held once a semester. It is compulsory for all to appear in the house tests.
b. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against those who absent themselves from the house and examination.
c. Students will have to secure at least 40% marks in each examination, or else they will not be allowed to appear in the final examination.
d. Any student who fails or absents even from one paper, for whatever reason, will not be entitled to academic prizes.
e. No students will be allowed to accept any employment during the course of study. The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited on the college campus.

8. No Ragging:

It is for the information of students that ragging in the institution is a criminal offence as per letter No. F.1-8/2006 (CPP-II) dt. 16.05.08 of UGC and Misc/A6/5452S7O° dt. 31.05.08 of Panjab University. Any student found guilty of the offence can be punished.
